by admin

Main narratives:

  • General anti-government sentiments;
  • Lithuania is a failed state;
  • the incompetence of the current government;
  • discrediting Ukraine and its effort to win the war.

Overview:

During this reporting week, different stories were trending among Kremlin-aligned media. The most engaged of them included critically pictured politician Viktor Uspaskich once again returning to the Labor Party, underestimating Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, and his efforts to help Ukraine while introducing additional sanctions for Belarus, and picturing Lithuania as a failed state, in which it is dangerous even to live. Headlines such as “the bodies of nine people were found in the country last day” or “a tragic weekend on the beaches of Klaipėda city – two men drowned” featured online, with comments that “the government of Lithuania does not secure proper living conditions for its citizens”.
