Main narratives:

  • General anti-government sentiments;
  • The incompetence of the current government;
  • The necessity to reform the governing system of Lithuania.

Overview:

Throughout the past week, Kremlin-aligned media in Lithuania covered a range of significant events. These included concerns about air pollution due to fires in Belarus, with levels remaining notably high, a major landfill fire in Kaunas, the presentation of the Lithuanian Parliament’s autumn session work program, and a visit by the Lithuanian president and his wife to Kyiv.

However, notable activity on social media was driven by Petras Gražulis—a politician stripped of immunity over homophobic statements and one of Lithuania’s most controversial public figures. Gražulis alone posted 31 updates on his Facebook page, most in the form of Facebook Reels. In the videos, he harshly criticized the current government, particularly targeting President Nausėda, the Landsbergis family, and Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, while actively promoting his coalition, “Kelkis Lietuva” (“Rise, Lithuania”). Some videos also featured well-known anti-governmental figures like Remigijus Žemaitaitis, who helped promote the coalition.
