Main narratives:

  • anti-LGBT sentiments
  • the incompetence of the current government
  • anti-green deal statements
  • general anti-government sentiments

Overview:

During the examined week, the content, in contrast to prior weeks, was not primarily concentrated on domestic issues, as much coverage was given to the Olympic games. Most notably, the female boxing match between representatives of Algeria and Italy was discussed in great detail by various accounts claiming that the Algerian boxer was biologically male. Among the platforms where the disinformation narrative was discussed, X and Facebook showcased critical engagement with people in the comment section calling out the disinformation. In contrast, the engagement on TikTok was primarily supportive. Additionally, topics such as climate change, corruption and military service for women were discussed. Although TikTok remains the most popular platform for engagement, posts and engagement on Facebook have increased.
