  • general anti-government sentiments

Overview:

During the examined week, the narratives were not as focused on domestic issues as in prior weeks, as much attention was given to the European Union, mainly about the re-election of Ursula von der Leyen. In a video posted on Facebook, a newly elected member of the European Parliament from the political party LPV (Latvia in First Place) stated that the pride people have plagued Europe and must be cleansed both from them and the migrants they are bringing in reasoning that this is for the benefit of the economy as the European Union needs to be able to compete with China and the United States. Other narratives included Covid-19 about Ursula von der Leyen, the assassination attempt on Trump and media credibility in Latvia. Although TikTok remains the most popular platform for engagement, posts and engagement on Facebook and Twitter have increased slightly.
