by Otto Tabuns

Main narratives:

  • the incompetence of the current government
  • general anti-European Union sentiments
  • anti-LGBT sentiments
  • general anti-government sentiments

Overview:

During the examined week, the narratives mainly revolved around anti-European Union sentiments and allegations of corruption within the country. The primary claim about the European Union is that the European Commission has too much power, which is further tied to the narratives of Ursula von der Leyen being responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic and vaccinations. The claims of corruption are similar to those shown in prior weeks through the progress of RailBaltica. Although TikTok remains the most popular platform for engagement, posts and engagement on Facebook and Twitter seem to have increased slightly.
