Overview:

During the examined weeks the narratives concern domestic issues such as the alleged corruption exampled by RailBaltica, and the rising costs for energy. The posts aim to show the Latvian government as incompetent and failing to improve the economy which is further followed by blaming the European Union membership or suggesting increased collaboration with states like Russia, China and Belarus. Most notably, there was a post published on Facebook with the title “war will end, neighbours will remain” which showed as an additional example of how Hungary is collaborating with China. In terms of engagement, whilst TikTok remains the most engaged platform, there is an increasing trend of comments being primarily critical with incorrect facts being called out or showing a general critical view of the author’s credibility.
