Overview:

During the examined week the primary narratives surrounded domestic issues alleging incompetence and corruption of the current government in relation to RailBaltica. In addition, there has been a resurgence of posts concerning COVID-19 and LGBT issues which have previously created significant engagement. Most notably, the comment section shows an increasingly critical engagement from the audience. Although there are many supportive comments, for example, the opposition party LPV (Latvia in First Place) have been confronted in the comment section as they have not issued a statement regarding the bombing of the children’s hospital in Ukraine. In comparison, in other instances, they have been vocal about Hamas attacks when it has benefited their narrative in relation to Muslims and migration. Most notably, in the prior week the political party in a Facebook post encouraged to retain ties with Russia, Belarus and China. Although Tiktok remains the most popular platform for engagement, posts and engagement on facebook and telegram seem to have increased slightly.
